The main business of the company was to supply hotel accommodation to travel agencies but over the years the company extended the portfolio of services to cover all the needs of the end traveler: package tours, air tickets, accommodation, ferry boat tickets, transfers and many more.
After exiting a venture as a GDS exclusive representative in Greece, Mr. Alexandros – the CEO of People of the World, had the capital and desire to launch a fresh B2B brand in the traditional Greek market. At the time, Greece was under monopoly by an old technology house which also worked as an online wholesaler and thus they could see all bookings and compete with their clients. Needless to say, Mr. Alexandros wanted an IT partner, not a competitor.
We went into implementing a modern B2B engine that worked faster, had more XMLs and was more modern
and feature-rich than their main market competitors. Mr. Alexandros started signing up agents and the buzz spread.
People of the World is now one of the leading DMCs and wholesalers in Greece, with a leading portfolio of over 140,000 hotels across 138 countries, they are now able to offer an outstanding selection of global hotel accommodation at the lowest rates.
The company now counts 20 staff, has opened up a second office, is now the GSA of Club Med in Greece and has
launched a unique concept in the Greek market to be closer to their B2B clients: the lounge.
